Po Lin Monastry
Besides as the must-go destination for prayers, Po Lin Monastry is also a top destination for tourists to experience the natural and cultural side of Hong Kong.
The Monastry was initially a small temple constructed by three buddhists in 1924. Over the years, more structures have been added, such as the big temple (Picture below) and world's largest Big Buddha. Also, it is situated on a mountainous area of Lantau Island. As such it becomes one of the top and must-go destination for visitors to Hong Kong.

Big Buddha
This statue is the world's largest Buddha statue, by using bronze, it's 34 metres tall and weight 250 tonnes, empowered in December 1993.
It costs nothing to reach the Big Buddha, however, one has to purchase a vegetarian coupon for entry into the 3 levels exhibition hall beneath the Big Buddha.

- Take the MTR Tung Chung Line to Tung Chung Station (Hong Kong Station to Tung Chung Station requires approximately 35 minutes), then take New Lantau Bus No. 23 to Ngong Ping (approximately 50 minutes)
- From Central Pier No. 6 (near Central's Star Ferry Pier or MTR's Hong Kong Station), catch a ferry to Lantau Island's Mui Wo (Fast Ferry takes 40 minutes, Normal Ferry takes 60 minutes). At Mui Wo, take New Lantau Bus No. 2 to Ngong Ping (approximately 50 minutes)
