Hong Kong Island > Central > Hollywood Road

Central Mid-Level's Escalator
Starting from Queen's Road Central's Central Market is the Central Mid-Level's Escalator. The Escalator is 800m long, but it actually consists of many sub-sections of small escalators. Along the way, you can see the local shops to the mid-levels where the rich reside (No wonder the Government built this Escalator to solve the traffic problem for the rich?).

Hong Kong Travel Info:
  • The Escalator only operates one way, either Up or Down
  • Operating Hours: 06:00 to 10:00, downwards; 10:00 to 22:00, upwards
  • Transportation: MTR Central Exit D2, turn right on Queen's Road Central and head towards Central Market

Central District Police Station
Starting from the bottom of the Escalator, you will shortly arrive at Hollywood Road's Central District Police Station. This Doric-style structure gives you a taste of Hong Kong's colonial history.

Hollywood Road (Antique Street)
Hollywood Road is Hong Kong's most well-known antique street. The antique shops stretches from the Central District Police Station to Man Mo Temple and Upper Lascar Row (Cat Street), where you can find cheaper antiques.

SoHo
Moving along the Escalator and passing Hollywood Road, you'll then reach Staunton Street. This area is named SoHo since it is South of Hollywood Road.

SoHo has a mix of trendy restaurants and cafes, with Italian, French, Thai, Mexican, Indian, Australian or Japanese cuisines, you name it!
